Do you offer a meet-and-greet before the first service?
Of course! Once you set up your new online PetPocketBook account, you can request one there, or message us, and we will help set up your Complimentary Meet n’ Greet.
What services are included in a walk?
As with all of our services, it is ‘all-inclusive,’ so everything from dog walks, to feeding, supplying fresh water and medications, bringing in your Amazon packages, and more!
Do you offer other services besides dog walking?
Yes! In addition to dog walking, we are also happy to perform ‘Drop In’ and ‘Pet Sitting’ visits for your pup, cat, rabbit, guinea pig, bird, etc., (even your home). We will arrive at a time that is prearranged, feed, water, play with, let out in backyard (dogs)…and the best part? Additional pets are included at no extra charge!
Can HWPC administer medications or special care?
Of course. We can give your pet any needed medications or supplements, including insulin; just make sure the exact name and info is included in their online PetPocketBook profile before their visit!
Do you offer off leash dog walks?
We perform all dog walks on a leash. No Exception!
How far in advance do I need to book my pet care service?
We recommend requesting your pet care as soon as you know your plans, for best availability. However, we do accept requests for same day service, subject to availability.
Does HWPC offer recurring dog walks or pet visits?
Yes! We offer weekly recurring dog walks (and pet sitting visits), as well as the occasional walk, as needed. An added perk of recurring scheduled pet visits is that automatic recurring services have guaranteed availability.
Can I schedule a dog walk for the same day?
Of course! If we are available, we will be happy to walk your pup…and ‘last minute’ requests are accepted with no additional charge!
How do I book a dog walk or pet visit?
The best way to request service is by submitting your request online in your PetPocketBook account (always available at the top of the the homepage). We also accept requests via email and the messenger within your PetPocketBook account.
How do I cancel or reschedule a dog walk or pet visit?
You can easily cancel, edit, add notes to, or add pet care requests directly in your online PetPocketBook account. Cancellations before 8am the day of scheduled service will NOT incur a fees Cancellations submitted in PetPocketBook 8am or later will incur a 75% fee for all of the same day scheduled services.
How do I pay for my HWPC pet service?
Horizon West Pet Care accepts credit cards, debit cards, and ACH payments in your PetPocketBook account (electronic payments in the PetPocketBook system incur a 5% surcharge), as well as cash and checks (which do not have an additional fee).
Are there any additional fees?
Pet care on the below holidays will incur a $5/visit charge:

Are the HWPC pet care providers insured?
Yes. Every dog walker/pet sitter with Horizon West Pet Care is Insured
Do the HWPC pet care providers undergo a background check?
Every new employee undergoes an employment & criminal background check.
How does HWPC handle emergencies?
Should an emergency occur in your absence, we will contact you immediately. If we feel it is necessary for your pet to be seen by your veterinarian, we will take him/her to the veterinarian listed in your online PetPocketBook account. If no veterinarian is listed, we will be unable to take them in; please ensure your PetPocketBook is ALWAYS complete and up-to-date.
Will I have the same dog walker every time?
Your dog walker/pet sitter will be determined upon when you need service, and whomever is available at that time. All dog walkers/pet sitters are perfectly capable, have been trained accordingly, and have been introduced to your pet(s) by Michael (owner/operator of Horizon West Pet Care LLC)
How does HWPC provide updates on my pet's walk or visit?
After every visit, the ‘pet parent(s)’ will receive a ‘visit report’ showing the time of arrival & departure, a map of your dog’s walk, if your pet was fed, given fresh water, went potty, brought in packages, and may even include a picture or two!
What if my dog is not home when the dog walker arrives?
If we arrive as scheduled, and your pet is not home, or you forgot to cancel service prior to our arrival, the full amount for the service will be charged.
